Awsome Saddle for a Comfortable Ride, June 21, 2010 By perrymasonary "perrymasonary" (Miami, Florida) - See all my reviews This review is from: Electra Townie Bicycle Saddle (Black with Lycra Insert) (Sports) This saddle comes standard on an Electra Townie bicycle. I had the good fortune to ride around Hilton Head Island on a Townie that was one of the bikes included as a perk at the rental property we vacationed in Sea Pines Plantation. I can say WOW this saddle was one comfortable ride. Also the vinyl fabric is sturdy and not think like some of the gel type saddles.
When we got home I went right over to the local bike shop that sells Electra products and ordered this Townie saddle for my Raleigh Gruv 2, also a pedal forward bike like the Electra Townie. The Gruv line was made for about 2 years and unfortunately discontinued by Raleigh, although it is a great bike with good components.
I had to patiently wait since the saddle was on back order. About 1 month later it arrived and it was worth the wait. Compared to the Avenir saddle that was stock on the Raleigh, the Townie saddle is far more comfortable.
Electra should really consider marketing this... Read more
