Bell Memory Foam Saddle Reviews

I am a 5'8" woman, about 200 lb, and was looking for some support for the junk in the trunk b/c my the stock saddle on my schwinn aluminum comp basically felt like a piece of slender plywood between my legs. I can easily ride 15-20 miles and not experience any discomfort or soreness. With that said, there are days I ride about 5 miles for pleasure and others 15-20 miles for fitness. On longer rides I experience a bit of chafing that is prob due to my lack of "proper" cycling gear (sorry, not ready to break out the spandex) and also from the width of the wider saddle.
The ONLY negative thing about this seat (for me) is that it sucks up some serious vertical real estate on my seat post. I had to take off my reflector to adjust my seat without needing a step stool or running start to get on my bike. I plan to get a smaller, more narrow saddle to replace this one so I can make use of my seat post again, and maybe get something more appropriate... Read more
9 of 9 people found the following review helpful Comfortable, August 26, 2011 By This review is from: Bell Memory Foam Saddle (Sports) I bought one since the "hard" seat on my bike hurt, even though I only rode the bike for a few miles each way to school. People at the local bike shop said this memory foam seat would be too wide and too soft for comfort. I guess if you are racing bikes for long distances, that may be true. But my rides are generally under 5 miles. Most of us don't race bikes. For leisure riders and for commuters this seat would be the most practical. This seat had done well for me, and I appreciate it's softness. However, the memory foam soft part is only about 1 inch thick and is supported by a firmer foam underneath. The split area relieves the pressure in a sensitive area. The seat has springs. The covering is a plastic that has enough flexibility to allow the "softness" of the memory foam to be felt. I have had the seat about a month. It has had no defects within that time. It appears to be well constructed. It is a good value for the money.

Freedom, sweet freedom....Now if someone comes up with a fan to blow up through the slot on hot days? I'm waiting...... :)
